Trip to Acadia National Park - Day 1 of 4

Our trip to Maine would not be complete without a trip to Acadia National Park. So many people had told us many wonderful things about this park and it certainly met our high expectations. We took a four day trip from Scarborough, and stayed in a nice, small, clean motel in Bar Harbor.

The following 3 pictures are of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory, which we crossed on our way to Acadia.

The following are a series taken at Thunder Hole in Acadia. True to it's name, there was a thunderous sound when the water would slam against the rocks and we could actually feel it on the ground. We accidentally stopped there at the best time to see nature's show. The bottom part of the walkway was gated on this day. We stopped a few days later when the situation was very different. Those pictures will appear on another post.
